Turning the tide on stress, pain and illness.

The name Ripples was inspired after 30 years of working in specialist support services, where I saw how one person’s growth and choices could create ripples that touched the lives of those around them. I also witnessed how a person’s circumstances, health, and behaviour could deeply affect others—sometimes in ways they had not intended or even realised. These experiences shaped my understanding of how interconnected our well-being, mood, and intentions are with the people around us
Alongside my professional work, I spent many years exploring holistic approaches to health, particularly in the areas of emotional and mental wellbeing. What began as a personal interest became a deep commitment to understanding how mind, body, and emotions are connected—and how change in one area can support healing in others. Through this exploration, I became drawn to acupuncture as a practical, evidence-based way to support both physical and emotional well-being.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture from the Northern College of Acupuncture, a respected institution specialising in Traditional Chinese Medicine. I’m a certified practitioner and a registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), which means I meet their professional standards for training, safety, and ongoing development.
My vision is to empower people, through acupuncture and holistic approaches, to reclaim their health and emotional well-being to create positive change — one ripple at a time

Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a complete healthcare system. It works with the body, mind, and internal energy systems to address both the symptoms and underlying causes of any imbalance.
When the body’s natural balance is disturbed—through stress, injury, illness, or outside influences—it can lead to disharmony, showing up as physical or emotional symptoms. Traditional Chinese Medicine helps restore this balance by guiding the body back to its natural flow, so it functions at its best.
Acupuncture involves the use of fine, sterile needles placed at specific points on the body to stimulate the nervous system, support circulation, and influence the release of neurotransmitters and hormones. This process encourages the body’s natural healing response. Depending on individual needs, other supplementary therapies such as cupping, moxibustion, electroacupuncture, or massage may also be used.
Treatments are always tailored to you as a whole person, rather than just your symptoms. Acupuncture is adaptable, effective, and works safely alongside conventional medicine.
Whether you're navigating physical illness, pain, emotional stress, or simply seeking a greater sense of balance, I offer compassionate, individualised care rooted in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Treatments are tailored to your unique needs, supporting body, mind, and energy through acupuncture and bespoke treatment plans.

The first appointment lasts between 75-90 minutes and begins with a conversation. We’ll explore your primary health concern as well as your medical history and overall health. You may be asked questions that don’t seem directly related to why you’ve come, but in Chinese Medicine, everything is connected. The more we understand, the more accurately I can support you. Subsequent visits would last approximately 60 minutes.
There is always a short physical assessment, which includes:
This helps form a complete picture and guides your personalised treatment plan.
Once you're comfortable, ultra-fine needles are placed at specific acupuncture points. The sensation is usually minimal—most people describe a dull ache, tingle, or gentle warmth. Many feel deeply relaxed and even fall asleep during treatment. Needles are typically retained for approximately 20 -30 minutes.

NADA RESET is a group-based session that brings together ear acupuncture, guided meditation, and reflections from Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Originally designed to support people through stress, addiction, and trauma, the NADA protocol is now widely recognised for its ability to regulate the nervous system, restore emotional balance, and provide therapeutic benefits without the need for verbal processing.
These sessions create a reliable framework for restoring balance and easing stress, whatever challenges you may be facing.
While separate from one-to-one acupuncture treatments, RESET sessions work alongside them effectively, enhancing the benefits of both. They can also be delivered within corporate wellbeing programmes, retreat settings, or community events—offering a structured pause that supports resilience and collective wellbeing in a clear, practical format

Yes. When performed by a fully qualified practitioner, acupuncture is very safe. I am a registered member of the British Acupuncture Council, which ensures high standards in training, hygiene, and professional practice.
Most people find acupuncture very gentle. The needles are ultra-fine—much thinner than those used for injections—and are inserted with care. You might feel a slight pinch or a dull ache, which is often a sign that the body is responding.
That depends on what you’re coming for and how your body responds. Some people notice improvements quickly, while others benefit from regular sessions over a more extended period. Acupuncture tends to work best as a process, so it’s often advisable to undergo a course of treatments rather than just a single session.
Acupuncture can support a wide range of physical, emotional, and energetic issues. People often seek treatment for things like pain and injury, headaches, digestive problems, stress, anxiety, fatigue, hormonal imbalance, and sleep disturbances. Others come to maintain general well-being, especially during times of stress or change.
Cupping
Cupping involves placing suction cups on the skin to help improve circulation, release tension, and support the movement of blood and Qi. It can be helpful for musculoskeletal pain, stress, or feelings of stagnation in the body. You may notice round, bruise-like marks afterwards—these are usually painless and fade within a few days as circulation improves.
Moxa (Moxibustion)
Moxa is a gentle form of heat therapy that uses the herb mugwort to warm and nourish the body. It can be applied directly or indirectly over acupuncture points, often used to support fatigue, cold conditions, and long-term imbalance. The warmth is deeply soothing and helps to strengthen the system.
Electroacupuncture
This is a relatively modern addition to traditional acupuncture, where a mild electrical current is passed through needles. It’s used to enhance the effect of treatment, especially for pain, nerve conditions, or when extra stimulation is needed. The sensation is gentle and rhythmic, and not at all painful.
Massage
This is a hands on treatment where the muscles, fascia and channels are massaged to aid relaxation, tension and diagnosis.

Absolutely. Acupuncture can be effective when used in conjunction with conventional medical treatments and other therapies, including those used during cancer care. In these cases, it’s advisable to inform your oncology team and seek their guidance before starting treatment. an answer to this item.
